Saturday, March 8th, 3:30 - 5:00pm, please pre-register; $30

A chakra-centered meditation and yoga practice can help you create a life of health, strength, awareness, wealth, success, love, peace and joy. In this ongoing series of workshops you'll discover the power of the chakras through guided meditations and yoga movement specifically designed to reconnect you to your energy body. Each workshop focuses on one of the seven chakras. This month our focus is the first or root chakra: transforming fear and cultivating trust.

A healthy root chakra is grounded. Grounding is a process of dynamic contact with the earth and our bodies, our emotional and physical boundaries, stability, strength and limitations. Grounding is being oriented in the here and now. It involves opening the lower chakras and merging with gravity; feeling energetically in harmony with our surroundings, safe and supported through our connection to the environment, and internally present through our reverence for all life.

Join us in an excavation of your own root chakra through a lively interactive lecture, yoga practice, and meditation. Vitalize your first chakra by learning how to create safety and aliveness in your body and walk fearlessly in the world.

Introduction to Laughing Yoga: Laughing for Joy - Yoga Style!   Friday, March 28th, 7:00pm - 8:00pm, with Akhil Jhaveri, Introductory cost of $5.00

In this introduction to Laughing Yoga you will experience simple breathing and easy movement exercises combined with intentional laughter.  It sounds easy and it is but the rewards are amazing.  Laughing produces anti stress hormones, creates T-cells in the blood stream, boosts the immune system and releases endorphins in the brain. Laughter changes our body chemistry inducing a sense of well being and joy. It is a massage for the heart and has been described as a “gym for the soul”.

The brain doesn’t know the difference when we laugh for a reason or we fake it so intentional laughter works – no jokes, no tickling, no tricks – you just have to decide to do it.  Join us for an hour of discussion, movement games and relaxation.

Laughing Yoga is a work-out we can all do and we all need.  It starts in the mind and moves to the heart as pure joy.
